We have a great lineup of speakers for the 2013 Fitness & Health Social Media Conference and will continue to add profiles here as speakers are confirmed.

Sarah Chambers is the social media specialist for American Council on Exercise, the world’s largest nonprofit fitness certification organization. She has overseen social media for major brands including Hilton Hotels & Resorts®, Goodwill Industries and Better Business Bureau, as well as various companies in the automotive, retail, restaurant and legal industries. Her expertise spans a number of platforms including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Four Square. Aside from living a healthy lifestyle, Sarah is passionate about providing excellent customer service. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business marketing from Arizona State University.

Lisa Corbin, MD, has been the medical director for the Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Colorado Hospital since its inception in September 2001, where she specializes in non-medication approaches to treat illness and promote wellness. Dr. Corbin received her medical degree with honors and distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She also serves as the president of the AlterMed Research Foundation Board.
Chris Freytag is chairman of the board of the American Council on Exercise. She is also an ACE certified group fitness instructor, ACE health coach, personal trainer and published author and speaker. Chris is a contributing fitness editor to Prevention magazine and appears weekly on NBC’s Minneapolis/St. Paul affiliate Kare 11 News, in a segment with actionable nutrition and exercise tips called Motivation Monday.

James O. Hill, PhD, executive director of The Anschutz Health and Wellness Center as well as professor of pediatrics and medicine and current director of the Center for Human Nutrition. Hill holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee and Master of Science and PhD degrees from the University of New Hampshire in physiological psychology. Previously, he served as chair of the first World Health Organization Consultation on Obesity and president of the North American Association for the Study of Obesity, and was a member of the expert panel on obesity at the National Institutes of Health that developed the first U.S. guidelines for the treatment and prevention of obesity. He is also co-founder of America on the Move, which aims to inspire Americans to make small changes in how much they eat and move to prevent weight gain.

Ashley Koff, RD (www.AshleyKoffRD.com), seeks to improve the quality of nutrition choices available and consumed. A Qualitarian, she believes that better quality nutrition choices are key to optimal health. In addition to maintaining a private practice,  Ashley regularly appears as an expert on TV, print, radio, and online including “The Dr. Oz Show,” ABC7, The New York Times, O! The Oprah Magazine, Every Day with Rachael Ray, Redbook, The Huffington Post, and EmpowHer.  She is currently a contributing editor for Natural Health and Prevention magazines, on the editorial advisory boards of Fitness and Prevention magazines, and the California state ambassador for First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign.

Paolo Neville is the Executive Chef at Bistro Elaia at the Anschutz Center for Health and Wellness. Raised on an organic farm in Boulder, Colo., Paolo has been a chef for more than 20 years working in places from Napa Valley to local, Denver-area restaurants. He and the Bistro Elaia team worked closely with Eliabeth Kealey and Kim Gorman, registered dietitians at the Center to create a menu in which “delicious” and “nutritious” are practically synonymous.

Iñigo San Millán, Ph.D., is the Director of the Exercise Physiology and Human Performance Lab at The Anschutz Health and Wellness Center. Dr. San Millán is also a faculty of Family Medicine and Sports Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He applies the latest tests, methodologies and approaches in Applied Exercise Physiology and Metabolism to help optimize the performance of athletes of all levels and sports. With more than 14 years of experience as an exercise physiologist and sports medicine advisor for many professional teams and elite athletes worldwide, Dr. San Millán is considered one of the top and most experienced applied physiologists in the world. Carol Torgan, Ph.D., FACSM, is an award-winning health strategist and educator with over 15 years experience in public health and medicine developing content and outreach strategies that translate the health and medical sciences into understandable and actionable steps for the general public and for health professionals. Dr. Torgan served as a member of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Speakers’ Bureau and currently serves as a media representative for the American College of Sports Medicine and as an expert medical reviewer for Health News Review.

Dr. Holly WyattHolly Wyatt, MD, associate director of The Anschutz Health and Wellness Center, is a physician and clinical researcher at the Center for Human Nutrition at the University of Colorado Denver, School of Medicine. Wyatt has been the national program director for the Centers for Obesity Research and Education (CORE) since 1998. She received a National Service Research Award and a Patient-Oriented Research Career Development Award (K23) from the National Institutes of Health to study energy metabolism and metabolic factors associated with weight loss in reduced-obese subjects. She is also the medical director of Colorado Weigh, a weight management program developed at The Center for Human Nutrition.
