FitSocial 2013 Call for Content

October 29th, 2012 · 3 Comments · #FitSocial 2013, From the Organizers

It’s time for us to start planning the social media content for the upcoming 2013 Fitness & Health Social Media conference, to be held September 26th – 29th in Denver/Boulder, Colorado.

The Fitness & Health Social Media Conference (#FitSocial) is unique in that it is a mix of cutting edge scientific content related to fitness & health, and high level content related to social media. Whether you are a a fitness & health blogger or are a fitness & health professional wanting to work on increasing your social media skills and branding online, this is a conference to get yourself educated, inspired, and to grow your online influence.

Our partner, the Anschutz Health & Wellness Center, will be providing the scientific content portion of this exciting conference. Their teams of doctors, researchers and professors will be on hand to share with us their new discoveries and techniques.

What we are looking for from our blogger community are suggestions on what you’d like to see regarding the social media portion of the conference’s content.

Take a look at our outline agenda on this site. Many of the components are already set, but we do need your input on the following:

Speakers: Who would you like to speak at the 2013 Fitness & Health Social Media Conference? Who is inspiring you in your work? Who’s bridging the gap and bringing high quality fitness & health information to the masses? Who do you think is entertaining and relevant to the fitness & health online community, and who you think would be an engaging speaker? (tip: it helps if you’ve heard this person speak before)

Breakout Sessions: Hour-long breakout sessions are a chance for you to hear from experts in the field of social media, be it blogging, writing, technology, or successful online fitness & health professionals. Do you have any suggestions for breakout session topics and speakers? Do you want to see a panel discussion from a group of bloggers? Who would be on this panel?

To provide suggestions, please either comment on this blog post or email Conference Community Manager, Cindy Molchany at cindy@zephyradventures.com. Please be specific as to the topic and whether you are recommending a keynote speaker, breakout session, or blogger discussion. Please also provide us with names, and if you’re suggesting someone else to present, whether you know the person.

We will take suggestions over the next week and then conduct a survey to determine which potential topics are most popular. We want to thank everyone who has reached out to us thus far inquiring about speaker opportunities. Please feel free to resubmit your request in order to be included in the public survey. While we will not be able to accomodate everyone’s request to speak or present at the conference, we do value the work you’re doing and hope to see you in Denver/Boulder! Thanks for your input!

Dr. Inigo San Millan! He’s the Director of Physiology at Anshutz Wellness and CU Medical Center. Dude knows the human body when it comes to exercise and running. Probably the best guy to go to for a VO2Max study–he’s done mine. His twitter; @doctorinigo

I am so excited for the upcoming Fitsocial 2013. As far as speakers go, I am very excited to hear about who will be there. I follow Matt Mayberry on twitter (@Matt_Mayberry) who is a Fitness & Health expert/professional speaker who has really helped take my health and fitness to another level. I would really love to hear him speak in person, I hear wonderful things about him!
