We are super pleased to finally be able to announce details of the 2013 conference.
First off, however, we’d like to make sure you notice our name (and logo and URL) change, from the Fitness & Health Bloggers Conference to the Fitness & Health Social Media Conference. This name change was agreed upon by all the key players – our blogger advisers, our Partners, our Sponsors, and the Anschutz Health and Wellness Center. Our URL has also changed to www.fitsocialconference.org.
In short, we are not losing our focus on bloggers but gaining a wider focus on anyone using social media to promote health and fitness.
One BIG aspect of this announcement is we are working with the American Council on Exercise and the American College of Sports Medicine to secure continuing education credits for their members who attend the conference. This is not yet secured but we hope to announce this in the coming weeks. If you have any connection to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, let us know so we can work with them too! We know lots of fitness professionals and dietitians use social media.
In fact, we are so supportive still of bloggers that we have provided a reduced-rate registration price of only $95 for active fitness and health bloggers who agree to write at least two posts about the conference. The posts can cover anything you want – the conference itself, the location, the activities, sponsors, presenters, or content. Regular conference registration is $295.
Finally, on to the conference details. The 2013 conference will be held
June 20-23 September 26-29 (Thursday through Sunday) and will be split between Boulder and Denver. Thursday (an optional hike in the nearby mountains) and Friday will be in Boulder and Saturday and Sunday will be at the Anschutz Health and Wellness Center in Aurora, a suburb of Denver. This change was requested of our 2012 attendees, who wanted to make sure they experienced the beautiful mountains of Colorado as part of their visit.
We will have plenty more to announce in the coming months but registration is now open. To stay in touch with conference happenings, follow us on our Fitness Bloggers Twitter account and insert your email address below to receive an email each time we post on this site. See you next June in Boulder and Denver!
